Size and fit

Our sizes follow age bands, because that is how babies are actually measured by the people buying for them. The bands below are a guide; babies are not.

Newborn, 0 to 3 months. Around 50 to 62 cm, roughly 3 to 6 kg.

Baby, 3 to 12 months. Around 62 to 80 cm, roughly 6 to 10 kg.

Toddler, 1 to 3 years. Around 80 to 98 cm, roughly 10 to 15 kg.

If your little one is between two bands, take the larger. Children grow into clothes faster than anyone expects and a slightly big romper is worn for months longer than a slightly small one.

How to measure. Height is the honest number: lie the baby flat and measure heel to crown. Weight matters more for anything with a fastening around the middle. Where a product has its own measurements they are listed on its page, and those always win over this table.

Fabrics. Cotton relaxes a little with wear and tightens slightly in a warm wash. Everything we sell is pre-shrunk, but a cold wash keeps it that way.

Still unsure. Email us with your baby's height and weight and what you are looking at, and we will tell you which one we would send our own. If it turns out wrong, there are 30 days to send it back.
